"schism" is a powerful and poignant choreographic creation that explores the intricate layers of human displacement and societal unrest. The dance piece opens with a haunting depiction of mass movements of expats, or may be refugees... with their bodies intertwined in a collective struggle for survival. The dancers embody the physical and emotional weight of fleeing their homes, searching for safety, and facing uncertain futures.

The focus shifts to societies in turmoil, the dancers portray the heart-wrenching scenes of communities torn apart, their once vibrant bonds shattered by fear and prejudice. The stage becomes a visual representation of collective burial grounds, a stark reminder of the tragedies that have unfolded due to intolerance and hatred.

Amidst this backdrop of collective suffering, individual stories begin to emerge. The dancers delve into their personal experiences and backgrounds, weaving intimate narratives of loss, resilience, and hope. Through their movements, they invite the audience to witness the raw emotions and complexities of real human lives affected by displacement and division.

"schism" serves as a poignant reminder that behind the headlines and statistics lie countless untold stories of real people with real emotions. Through this choreographic exploration, the audience is invited to confront the harsh realities of our world while also embracing the humanity and strength that emerge from adversity.
